Want to join the Venus and Vega crew? Well do I have news for you! We are currently hiring. We need people to fill several positions- background artists, musicians, storyboard artists, animators & voice actors. Please note that there is no payment involved in working on the project. This is not a professional production. You also must be over the age of 13 to apply. Information on e-mailing your submissions will be down a bit further after the requirements section.
This applies to any art position- background artist, sotryboard artist or animator. Professional style art is not expected of anyone. However, good quality art is what is wanted. You must have a general ability to replicate other artsyles. The show is going for a late 80's-90's cartoon artstyle. Think Disney, etc. If you are a background artist, please have a decent ability to recreate the more painted-looking/airbrush styled backgrounds seen in the likes of Space Jam, Ducktales, etc. As for animation, we are looking for animators who can animate frame-by-frame/hand-drawn rather than by keyframing, as keyframing will not work with the styule the show is going for. Please provide a small (5-10 pieces) portfolio and examples of recent work. Beginner artists will not be hired for this project. I totally respect beginners- I was once a beginner myself, after all. But for this project we are looking for artists with a bit of experience. You don't need to have animated for tonnes of shows or anything, just have a decent amount of experience.
Please have an ability to vary between music styles- as of yet the style of the show's soundtrack remains undecided, so please be prepared for anything. Preferably, please be able to play more 70s-2000s style of music as the primary style chosen will probably be somewhere in that range.. Please provide a small portfolio (max. 10 pieces) as an example of your recent works. Let us know what intruments, and styles, you can play. Also, let us know if you can write music! You don't have to be able to, but we will need SOME people who can.
An ability to alternate between different voice types is suggested, but not mandatory. Some characters have accents and such, though, so it is helpful! Please provide a small portfolio (max. 10 pieces) or voice reel, and/or a sort of voice clip/video audition. Not everyone will have reels which is fine, so an audition clip will do if not.
